RAAF Base Williamtown advisory - increased flying activity 11- 28 March 2024

Please be advised RAAF Base Williamtown is expected to be busier than usual for the next few weeks.
Date & time
11th to 28th March 2024 - Flying Times 7am to 5pm
25th to 27th March 2024 - Flying Times will include brief periods of flying activity between 10pm and 8am.
Flying schedule
F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft from RAAF Base Amberley will operate periodically out of RAAF Base Williamtown in addition to other support aircraft for the next few weeks.
Air Force will conduct brief periods of flying activity outside of regular flying hours.at RAAF Base Williamtown as part of the planned training activity. The aircraft will fly missions to overwater airspace off the East Coast of Australia, and are not expected to loiter near bases or communities for extended periods.
Night-time training is essential for ensuring Air Force aviators have the experience to safely conduct missions in this challenging environment, and successfully achieve their mission goals.
Air Force advises residents can expect an increase in flying activity, and variations around normal flying operations. Air Force appreciates the ongoing support from local communities around RAAF Bases Williamtown and Amberley during this essential training.

- RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland and RAAF Base Williamtown and coastal locations from Evans Head to Jervis Bay, New South Wales
- There will be increased flying activity from RAAF Base Williamtown and Amberley as part of essential military training for the next three weeks
