PERFECT WEATHER FOR REGATTA

13 Dec 11

The Spears Point Sailing Club held their annual Regatta at the Grahamstown Dam on Sat 10-Dec and the event was a huge success, and they plan to visit again in February 2012, according to Frank Bardsley Assistant Secretary of Sailability Port Stephens who hosted the event. SPSC club officials congratulated SPS on a great day and thanked us for the hospitality (2 x BBQ snacks and refreshments). With over 30 sailing boats, 16' & 18'Catamarans, Lasars, Tasars, including six local Access craft, the onlookers were treated to an entertaining event as the weather was just right and the sailing conditions were excellent. In the photo's below Frank explains the triangular course to committee member Trevor Bestt before settling in to oversee the event from a vantage point in front of the clubhouse.

Results: Doug Monk beat Jason Elwes over the line in the Access dinghy class.

Sailability Port Stephens are running a LEARN TO SAIL event on 11, 12 & 13 January 2012 (click on link for details).
